Democrats on the Attack *UPDATED*

Reading a blog\post about a recent interview that George Stephanopolous had with Cindy McCain, one wonders if Democrats and Liberals can every truly be a happy contented people. In the interview Cindy states that she felt Obama went a bit too far saying that Sen McCain is out of touch with America. Part of Obama's claim was that he in a Washington insider who has been in government for far too long; being part of the problem.

Now, while I don't really have an issue with that, as it describes many of the people in Congress nowadays. But, I guess it was just too much to expect from Obama for him to even REMEMBER who he selected for his V. President. Recall the name of O'Biden, err.. I mean Sen. Biden? He has been in government much longer than Sen Biden has. But, that didn't stop the Obama fanatics from coming out and shining their bright brilliance towards this issue.

When Neanderthals Buy Books

A new bestseller gives tips on keeping a relationship strong - OBEY THE MAN. From the Daily Mail:

The Re-education Of The Female, by single father Dante Moore, puts the blame for women being unable to find a good man squarely where he says it belongs: 'On the female'.

Stay skinny, cook, clean, wear sexy clothes, and do whatever he says because men are here to command - that is the way to catch yourself a good man, says Moore.

What next? A book advocating beating women who disobey? Oh, wait - that's been done.

Katrina On My Mind

For some reason, whenever I hear news or weather broadcasts of the now Hurricane Gustav (Russian hurricane?), my mind keeps being told that this is either just like Katrina or will be another Katrina attack on New Orleans.

I am beginning to suspect that it is the media reports themselves. (Ed: can you guess from who?)

Gustav became a hurricane again on Friday and moved through the Cayman Islands, the start of a buildup that could take it to the U.S. Gulf Coast as a fearsome Category-3 storm three years after Hurricane Katrina.

It has also been 13 years after Hurricane Luis. And three years after Hurricane Maria, Nate, Ophelia, Philippe, Stan and Rita. Or, it has been 49 years since Hurricane Cindy.

Why focus this storm story, WHICH IS NOT EVEN WITHIN THE GULF COAST YET, upon the memory of Hurricane Katrina?

The Associated Press Waxes Elitist

Note to AP: See image filename for details. [credit]

Really. It's as if nobody in the world would ever want to live outside of Manhattan, dahhhling:

In this Dec. 4, 2006 file photo, Todd Palin, right, holds the Bible for his wife, Sarah Palin, as she is sworn in as Alaska's governor during an inauguration ceremony in Fairbanks, Alaska. As the political community turned desperate for any clues about the potential running mate of Republican Presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., speculation moved toward several dark horse candidates including Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the so-called 'hockey mom' credited with reforms of her tiny, out-of-the-way state. Unnecessary social commentary in italics. Elitist sentiments in bold, as they should be.

Why Do We Keep Giving Them Money?

From the grand Elder over at EOZ comes another sad, sick, demented and... and expected story of pre-teen girls being sold, abused and traded off to 70-year old child perverts and molesters.

The controversial divorce case of two minor girls trapped in “an invalid trade-off marriage” to two septuagenarian men goes to court here on Saturday.

The mothers of the two girls, Shaikha 16, and Abeer 11, have filed for divorce on the grounds that the minors were forced into illegal wedlock and were victims of domestic violence.

The case has sparked widespread debate in Saudi society with religious scholars expressing their views as well.

Renowned Saudi scholar Sheikh Abudlmohsin Al-Obaikan has opined that the girls should be granted divorce and the two men severely punished for allegedly trading off the girls in an “exchange marriage” of their daughters without any dowry or wedding ceremony.

After signing the marriage contract, the two couples went to Taif for the honeymoon. There, Shaikha tried to commit suicide to escape marriage to a 75-year-old man and was admitted to King Faisal Hospital in the city.

The only thing wrong seen by the "religious" people is that there was no dowry or wedding ceremony. They don't condemn it as a perversion or molestation. While others have no problem with it whatsoever.

You can determine a country's love of GOD and ability to be friends by its treatment of its own people. EOZ puts it just right: "women seem to be treated about as well as cattle, and not as well as camels."

Reuters is Parsing Again

From this caption:

Sixteen-year-old Palestinian Sa'ad Mesleh, who lost a leg in an Israeli army attack on militants three years ago, gestures after he and six other Palestinians arrived at Larnaca, Cyprus August 29, 2008 with pro-Palestinian activists, who sailed to Gaza last week to protest against an Israeli blockade of the enclave. The "Free Gaza" activists were the first foreigners to go to Gaza by sea since Israel tightened travel restrictions after the militant Hamas movement took control more than a year ago. Just think:—Up until now, the dastardly Zionists and their impenetrable embargo have forced these poor, tormented souls to use actual border crossings.

Oh, the humanity!!

Fox-tography

Fox News Channel appears to be getting a little bit... testy with their captions in the photo series for Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. (It's visible in this photostream here, but I can't find a way to link directly to the right page.)

That's funny—Alaska looks pretty big on my map.

Jihad at Sunset

Good to see that Agence France-Presse is still openly creating terrorist propaganda. Be sure to notice the title to this propagandistic masterpiece (only visible on Yahoo! News):

Jihad at sunset: Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants show their skills during a training session in Gaza City at sunset on August 29, 2008. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is willing to release 450 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for a soldier held by militants in the Gaza Strip, a newspaper reportedt today. Olmert has asked the five ministers dealing with the proposed swap with Hamas to draw up the list which would increase from about 80 the number of prisoners Israel is willing to release in exchange for Gilad Shalit, the Haaretz newspaper said. The Israeli corporal, who turned 22 two days ago, was captured in a deadly cross-border raid from Gaza in June 2006 and is believed to be held by Hamas.

As a free service to the newswire, I'll offer my own humble title for this masterpiece.

"FUTURE IDF TARGET."

May it become truth sooner than later.

Scenes From The Mount of Ascension

Recall, how the Dems\Libs\Commies\Socialists\Marxists demanded that this year's "Democrat" convention was going to be carbon neutral?

Well, not so much!

It would seem that good intentions of being green are always just that for the party of symbolism and talk.

And then from LGF, comes this filed report from Zombie on his trip to Invesco Field the Mount of Ascension. You know you really have to be "true believer" in order to stand in a line that goes on for miles just for a chance to find a seat in the nose-bleed section.

This was also known as the day Liberty was skewered.

And, may I just say this. THE messiah made fun of McCain being in Congress for 26 years. But, wasn't Biden there longer than that?!?!?

Russia: End Of Peace In Europe. [With Updates]

RUSSIA last night provoked fresh fears of a Cold War by boasting it has tested a new long-range nuclear missile. Moscow’s military chiefs revealed their Topol intercontinental stealth rocket had been fired successfully.

The chilling declaration was aimed at sparking international alarm about the conflict in the Caucasus, diplomats claimed. Foreign Secretary David Miliband tried to calm the crisis by saying no country wants “all-out war” with Russia.

But he admitted the invasion of Georgia has brought an end to peace in Europe.

Meanwhile, Russia blames the UK and USA of "provoking" the USSR's invasion of Georgia.

Pre-Obama Speech Lunacy

During the half-time of the Jaguars and Redskins game on Thursday August 28, NBC news anchor Brian Williams said that Barack (THE messiah) Obama would be delivering "an old fashioned revival" during his convention acceptance speech that night.

Then a bit later, Adam Schefter, a reporter on NFL issues for NBC, ESPN and NFL Network, stated that the "Hurricane" Gustav which is just west of Haiti (this day and time) was "heading straight for New Orleans" which he used to explain why the New Orleans Saints will be having their practices in another location.

Nothing like exaggeration journalism.

Update [Brian]: Cap'n and myself were both livetweeting this over on Twitter. His feed, My feed. This really was one of the most ridiculous spectacles I've ever seen, and I've been around a "couple" of elections.
