The Associated Press Is Impartial

Here's the Associated Press today, passing along the Huffington Post's hit piece on Sarah Palin's church [Daylife link pending]:

A sign sits on the yard of the Wasilla Assembly of God church in Wasilla, Alaska Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 where Alaska Gov. and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a 'task that is from God' in June 2008. Notice how offensive the wording of the text is, implying that she's one of we "loony" Christians?

Now, on the other hand, consider the AP's take on Barry Obama's church, back when that was first becoming an issue:

** TO GO WITH STORY SLUGGED OBAMA IGLESIA [Ed.:—Ironic, eh?] ** Trinity United Church of Christ, the church frequented by Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is seen on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Chicago. The church pastor's, Rev. Jeremiah Wright's, remarks about everything from race relations to the Sept. 11 terror attacks have provoked the greatest crisis for Obama's campaign thus far, but Obama has refused to leave Trinity, saying there is much more to Wright and the church. Nice, relaxing, defensive nuance.

If only the Association took its duty towards "impartiality" as seriously as it does its mission to end dissent.
