It's funny, that. I don't remember them being all that interested when Obama's pastor had a lot on his mind:

Pastor: GOP may be downplaying Palin's religious beliefs

For more than two decades, current Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was a practicing Pentecostal.

Sarah Palin asked church members to pray for $30 billion natural gas pipeline in Alaska.

She belonged to the Wasilla Assembly of God church in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. But though she attended the church from her teenage years through to 2002, she hasn't talked much about her religion since joining the Republican ticket.

Palin's former pastor, Tim McGraw, says that like many Pentecostal churches, some members speak in tongues, although he says he's never seen Palin do so. Church member Caroline Spangler told CNN, "When the spirit comes on you, you utter things that nobody else can understand ... only God can understand what is coming out of our mouths."

Some Pentecostals from Assembly of God also believe in "faith healing" and the "end times" -- a violent upheaval that they believe will deliver Jesus Christ's second coming.


Gee, wilbur—Who would've guessed that someone attending a Pentecostal church might... be Pentecostal!

*Perhaps Obama's pastor does indeed have a lot of controversial if not outright bizarre and delusional ideas. However, CNN and other news agencies did very much so report these views as front headlines. So much so that Obama had to make a separate speech to address them. So your claim that the media ignored the matter is nonsense.

Second, it is very important to remember that Obama's pastor is not the one in line for the White House and the most powerful office in the world. Palin is. As such, the fact that she gyrates around and utters unintelligible speech and thinks the world is seven thousand years old is very much of concern to any voting American. And, hopefully, a thinking American.

Seriously though, I understand that there are many religious people in this country and that fine... however, we can't have another Jesus freak running the country. We (and by we I mean you, I voted for Kerry and Gore) already made this mistake twice by electing a Jesus freak. You are welcome to believe in whatever kind of God you want, but the President has to understand that he or she must make cognitive decisions as President and can't think that it's "God's Will" or anything supernatural. We need a President who makes good decisions using logic. reason and critical thinking skills, not based on spiritual beliefs about it being out of his or her control. There is Separation of Church and State for a reason people!

Please, do us all this favor and vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden so we can give The White House back to people who don't let their faith control how they govern. I beg of you... for the love of God (which ever one you may be praying to).

I must comment on the War, Obama and Biden are against it, so they bicker about 4000 ADULT Soldiers that have died for Freedom, killing Terrorists, who hate us(Americans) in the last 5 years. These soldiers on their own accord signed up to make the World a better place and prayers go out to each soldier and their families, God Bless. On the other hand Obama and Biden have no compassion for the 1,210,000 plus INNOCENT lives that were destroyed just last year in 2007, that is over ONE MILLION BABIES THAT WERE ABORTED JUST IN THE U.S. LAST YEAR! For the record, Trollites, Barack Obama announced his candidacy for President on February 10, 2007. CNN's story about his "controversial" pastor didn't make it to print until March 2008.

For those of you who are unable to do simple math, that's 13 whole months before the "controversy" became newsworthy.

As opposed to the 7 days that it took CNN to show an interest in the story here.

And the takeaway from the anti-Christian trolls: It's all fine that you nuts have your crazy religion but don't think you have a place in our public square. Jeremy, I thought of reminding you what the "separation of church and state means" but I see you are not much into literal reading.

If you kindly allow me I may point out some logical inconsistencies with your post.
First of all you make an ASS-umption (I don't want to know where you pulled it from), that she makes political decisions based on religion. Pephaps you will care to clarify or give examples? Or maybe are we to understand that any action of hers that does not promote "progressive" agenda is to be a suspect of her "imposing" Christianity on you?

Secondly, Christianity in government (at least in a sense that is so detastable to you - that is openly proffessing Christians work for government) was there since the founding of US.
