Nothing to see here, move along.

Socialism By Force, For Your Own Good

Never thought I would see this, but conservative Oklahoma might be going nuts. You know, the move to Socialism has never been overt. Its moves are stealthy and slimy with good intentions. They tell you its for the children. They tell you that it will make the older citizens' lives better.

Well, now, all pretenses have been thrown out the front door. You will either comply or face stiff consequences. As Obama stated, everything starts from the bottom-up.

From the Tulsa World:

Oklahomans without health insurance could lose their driver's licenses, state income tax deductions or even college football season tickets under a surprising approach proposed by state Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland.

Such penalties might help Oklahoma improve its dismal ranking in the number of residents who have no health insurance, Holland said this week during her agency's Summit on the High Cost of Health Insurance.

"None of those are very pleasant, but there needs to be a consequence," Holland said Thursday.

You see. It's all about the rankings. It has nothing to do, now, with the care of children or homeless veterans. You will get expensive health insurance or else. Else you lose your license or football tickets. You choose. Great family entertainment or health insurance for the masses.

Read on. It gets worse....
Yes, it does get worse.

From the Commissioner's website:

"As insurance commissioner, I currently have greater authority to address a consumer's problem with pet insurance than I do protecting the half a million Oklahoma senior citizens covered under a Medicare Prescription Drug or Advantage plan.''

Can you guess her party affiliation?? You think it matters these days?

State Rep. Kris Steele, R-Shawnee, co-chairman of the House Health Care Reform Task Force, said requiring Oklahomans to buy health insurance is not a popular stance among lawmakers but that he is not opposed to mandated incentives.

"I believe the place to start is to create a situation within our state that people are without excuse for not having health insurance," he said. "Once we get to the point where people are without excuse, then we create the incentives.

"You need the carrot and the stick," Steele said.

Republican??? What's that?

Yes, this plan may not be popular, but the stick will be followed by a carrot. What is the carrot? You are allowed to drive and go to your favorite football team's events. You thought that was a freedom of choice? You are so naive.

Welcome to the New World.
