When Rockets Attack!

Looks like Palestine is starting their New Year with a BANG!

But for the media, things continue as usual.

Today, as I sort through the images of Israel's strike on Hamas militants in Gaza, I notice the captions still demonize Israel, while subtly protecting the terrorists.

For example, the caption on this photograph leaves no question as to who is responsible for the bloodshed:

Palestinians stand over bodies removed from the sites of Israeli air strikes in Gaza City on December 27, 2008. At least 155 Palestinians were killed across the Gaza Strip today in massive Israeli air strikes on the Hamas-run enclave, Hamas radio reported. Israeli military spokesman Avi Benayahu told army radio the massive bombardment of Gaza was only just beginning.

But the caption with the picture of an innocent Israeli civilian killed by a terrorist rocket is much more vague:

A medic crouches over the body of an Israeli man after he was killed in a rocket attack launched from the Gaza Strip and hit the southern Israeli town of Netivot on December 27, 2008 following Israeli bombardment on the Palestinian costal strip. The rocket attack killed one man and wounded four others, according to the Magen David Adom, Israel's equivalent of the Red Cross. Israel blitzed Hamas targets in Gaza today with a wave of air strikes that killed at least 195 people in the besieged enclave in retaliation for ongoing rocket fire, officials said.

*All I've seen on CNN about it over the past couple hours is a caption that said "rocket killed 2 palestinians". I'm assuming it's referring to the misfired rocket. Of course, because it is Hamas doing the killing, they just say "rocket"
