You know what would be a really terrific idea in this, the "worst economic crisis" of our lifetime?

Using this opportunity to levy stringent financial penalties on people who do not obey Liberal doctrine to the fullest, that's what!

You know, like charging dastardly non-recyclers a hefty $400 penalty for committing the cardinal sin of not setting their Recycle Bin out on the curb.

Seriously, when in the devil did we turn this country into the Soviet Union?

LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Lakewood residents could be charged up to $400 if they don't recycle.
A new law makes recycling mandatory starting July 1 for people who get municipal trash collection, NewsChannel5 reported.

If people do not separate recyclable materials, the city can charge a fee. For the first violation, it's a minimum of $50, $100 for the second offense and up to $400.

The new law authorizes the city to either charge residents a fee for city employees to separate recyclable materials or to stop trash collection to a home altogether.

An educational handbook will be sent out to residents.


Compliance is not optional. Soviet citizens who refuse to comply will be re-educated promptly.

Don't forget the delicious irony of printing tons of paper handbooks to promote recycling. I'm sure those handbooks will be used very diligently by the appreciative citizens, and promptly find their way into the garbage.. er, I mean recycle bin.

And don't forget that they also charge you more anyway for that recycling program that was supposed to save money.

This is just another push to control your life, you being and everything about you.

We have jumped over Socialism to full blown Communism now.
