Democratic Leadership in Action!

Higher taxes for thee, but not for me.

Jules Crittenden brings us a rather amusing story from the People's Republic of Massachusetts. I'll let you click on over to Jules for the entertaining details, but in short: A legislator in Massachusetts has been very vocal in raising the liquor tax in his State, and has been doing everything he can to punish people who cross the border into tax-sane New Hampshire to buy liquor.

Which he then proceeded to do himself, adding a bit of snide insult to injury when approached by a taxpayer from his home state.

It really does seem to be typical behavior of the party of the people, doesn't it?

*MA has police sit in the NH liquor lots and watch for MA plate cars putting too much in their cars. When they cross the MA border, they get pulled over and the booze is taken, ticket issued and fined. When I was assigned to Hanscomb AFB in MA, we would take a few cars to NH and load up one with empty boxes and the second one with the alcohol after the cops left. One time we were threatened with jail time for bringing fake liquor into the state.
