Michelle: Those With Health Insurance Are Blessed
Rush covered this a while back, but I am just now trying to catch up with some news after I moved to an apartment 2 weeks ago.
Obama had his girdle out pushing his health care plan in front of a gaggle of women.
She recites a story from her recent past in order to prove that having insurance saved her girls life.
Read that again. Let it soak in.
My rant is on page 2.

I will never forget the time eight years ago when Sasha was four months, that she would not stop crying -- and she was not a crier, so we knew something was wrong. So we fortunately were able to take her to our pediatrician that next morning. He examined her and said, "Somethin's wrong." We didn't know what, but he told us that she could have meningitis. So we were terrified. He said, "Get to the emergency room right away."
I think about, "What on earth would we have done if we had not had insurance."
Read that again. Let it soak in.
My rant is on page 2.
Is she really expecting us to believe that her daughter would have been turned away from an emergency room if they did not have health insurance? Is she expecting us to believe that she needed a doctor's permission to take her near-deathly sick child to the emergency room and had she not had health insurance, that might not have happened?
".. we were fortunately able to take her to our pediatrician..."
Seriously? Who can't? WHO IN THIS NATION CAN'T?!?!?!
All you have to do is call any doctor in the phone book and you can get an appointment. You can even go to the local quickie 24/7 first aid mart around the corner.
HELL!, you can even go directly to the emergency room without the need to call in a reservation first.
Although, there is typically no concierge service. Therefore, she might have needed to get a reservation in order to go to her country-club emergency room. So, I guess I can accept that then. See, the benefits of having insurance?
But, thank the gods that they had health insurance so that she could be sent to an emergency room to confirm that her daughter had meningitis. Thus, her health insurance saved the day right then and there. Or maybe not:
So, did she and her daughter stay in the hospital room crying constantly for days up to weeks?
She said: "I think about, "What on earth would we have done if we had not had insurance.""
Really? Did she really think this on that day? Or, was she totally consumed by her daughter's sickness her her recovery?
This is pure pap-smear!!
She continues:
It is required by law that emergency rooms treat people who walk in their doors. They may not treat them right away, but you will get treated.
But think of this. She is a wealthy woman and he is building up his career of renown. Do you really think that her paid pediatrician would send them to an emergency room? Or, would he have booked them in to the hospital for immediate tests and a bed to stay in?
This is an utter lie on her part. I wonder if her daughter was even sick at this point.
More.... She now goes political (as if she wasn't already)
Thus, this health care bill will make equal pay for equal care? Did you know that female teens earn less than males nearing retirement?
What does that have to do with providing reserved beds in emergency rooms?
She then goes in to total lunacy-ville:
Now we see a little light from the cracks in their justifications. Do they really believe that people who pay for health insurance with their hard-earned money are actually more.. ... blessed... than those without insurance?
What is this.. another Lords versus peasants debate?
Hey Michelle! Even the vassals can get health care in this country these days. They can even get health insurance (that one was for upyurnoz) coverage for free. In this great country, people without jobs, money or even places to live can get Medicaid, Food Stamps, and in some cases, money. These lowly vassals are even treated by emergency room physicians. Once again, the best physicians in the world.
If you really want to debate the Lords versus peasants thing, then let's debate the type of insurance that you pay to have your senators and congressmen receive. If they get ill, they see their in-house physician. If they need a specialist, one is brought IN to them without any additional cost. And you pay for it.
You pay for their health insurance coverage and they turn around and complain that you are not paying enough to cover everyone else in this nation that can't even afford to pay taxes.
And more...
Does this sound familiar?
You ignorant bigots. Pass this ObamaCare now. Do it for equal pay for women. It will make you grow up, get smart and realize that we are all not the same.

A lumbar puncture takes samples of the fluid around the spine and brain, known as cerebral spinal fluid (CSF). A culture of the spinal fluid is done to check for organisms known to cause illness. It often takes several days to several weeks to get results from a spinal fluid culture.

What would have happened to that beautiful little girl if we hadn't been able to get to a pediatrician who was able to get us to an emergency room. The consequences I can't even imagine.

We all know that women earn 78¢ on the dollar to a man. So it's not exactly surprising when we hear statistics that more than half of women report putting off needed medical care simply because they can't afford it. It is very much a women's issue. The status quo is unacceptable. It is holding women and families back -- and we know it. Fortunately that is exactly what my husband's plan proposes to do.
Thus, this health care bill will make equal pay for equal care? Did you know that female teens earn less than males nearing retirement?

If you already have insurance -- and it seems that there are a lot of people who are worried that they'll lose what they have under this plan, but under this plan if you already have insurance -- you're set. Nothing changes. You keep your insurance, you keep your doctors, and you're blessssssed!
Now we see a little light from the cracks in their justifications. Do they really believe that people who pay for health insurance with their hard-earned money are actually more.. ... blessed... than those without insurance?

Change is hard. Sometimes the status quo, even if it isn't right, feels comfortable because it's what we know. So it is understandable that people are cautious about moving into a -- a new place in the society.
Does this sound familiar?
We don't like being pushed outside of our comfort zones. You know it right here on this campus. You know people sitting at different tables- you all living in different dorms. I was there. You're not talking to each other, taking advantage that you're in this diverse community. Because sometimes it's easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions, it makes you feel justified in your own ignorance...That's America.
