The Ghost of Snapped Shot

Or, welcome to my low-maintenance heck.

Most Canadians: "She was asking for it!"

According to a story released today by the CBC, a majority of Canadians blame U.S. Foreign Policy for the 9/11 attacks.

Those conclusions are found in a newly released poll conducted by Léger Marketing for the Association for Canadian Studies.

The poll suggests that 77 per cent of Quebecers polled primarily blame American foreign policy for the Sept. 11 attacks. The results suggest 57 per cent in Ontario hold a similar view.

Do Canadians also blame a woman's attire for her rape? Or suggest that somehow she "deserved" a beating?

No word from the CBC on these other pressing questions at this time.

It is interesting to note that the CBC only sees fit to mention the two most liberal provinces in Canada. I have a hard time believing that the traditionally staid Albertans share these views...

It's also interesting to note that the study is in contradiction with itself, or at least, the CBC chose to ignore part of it for their attention-grabbing headline:

When participants were given the option of choosing more than one cause for the attacks, two-thirds blamed Islamic fundamentalists and their anti-Western views, while a third pointed the finger at Israel and its position in the Middle East.

Anyone care to guess who the 1/3 that Blame Israeltm are?
