Our border-jumping professor, Mohammad Ramadan Hassan Salama, seems to have had his visa greenlighted in short order.
The timing of this is suspicious, considering he only recently felt compelled to bray about it to the completely sympathetic press. (No word from our reporter on who initiated the press contact. My bet's on the professor's counsel.)
Speaking of, from his lawyer we learn that, "He is the kind of person this country needs in these tumultuous times. He is doing great service in advancing knowledge about Islam."
"Advancing knowledge about Islam?" I thought SFSU was a public university. Doesn't "advancing knowledge about Islam" go completely against their secular purpose?
Anyway, this turned out to be a pretty big non-event. Other than illustrating the insanity of inviting foreign radicals into our universities in large numbers (our dear professor presumably not included in that description).
