Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County Town of Vienna

Is this yet more evidence of an increase in gang activity in the formerly idyllic town of Vienna, Virginia? It's hard to tell, based on the completely vague reports being released by the Town police:

At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, units from the Town of Vienna Police Department were called to investigate reports of suspicious activity on Johnson Street, near Meadow Lake Park. Officers found a juvenile who had apparently been assaulted with a knife. The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department was summoned and transported the individual to Inova Fairfax Hospital for a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

While at the scene, the police received several calls reporting a fight involving a large group of teens at the park. When officers arrived on the scene of the fight, they discovered another individual with a laceration. Again, medical treatment was summoned and the individual was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Both subjects have since been treated and released.

At this time the case is still under investigation because of the large number of witnesses and involved parties, police said.

The Vienna Police are interested in speaking with anyone who might have information regarding this case. Call Detective Scott Leroux at 703-255-6332.
