I'm not holding out any hopes that the Federal judiciary is going to do the right thing in this case:
A federal court is expected to rule today in a case that could result in hundreds of thousands of immigrants getting their citizenship in time to vote in the 2008 elections.
The Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund filed suit in Manhattan federal court against several federal agencies to compel the government to speed up backlogged citizenship applications.
It used to be that, when coming here, immigrants worked hard to learn about and
become more American before they got to the point where they were ready to register to vote.
Nowadays, thanks to the efforts of the "Demand! Demand! Demand!" Democratic party, and with the help of Soviet groups like PRLDEF, they
fully expect the "right" to vote before they have even completed the naturalization process.
Knowing how dysfunctional our Federal government is today, I am certain that these radicals will get their wish.
