I know I'm not the first person to point this out, but Barack Obama really sounds quite pedestrian when he's not busy reading from a TelePrompTer. Can he really not get through a simple point without stammering?
Does he really expect that he'll be able to get very far with his international push "for diplomacy," if he's completely incapable of communicating unscripted points?

I'm hearing scuttlebutt that His Royal Highness, King Obama has actually taken the time to personally respond to the lipstick on a pig "smear." It would seem that the Republican Party is becoming quite adept at getting this guy off-message.

if you took time to be informed. You would have seen the entire statement made by obama,but then again the repubs will do anything to use slander and scare tacticts to win.here is the entire statement that "right wing media" will not run.Obama criticized McCain's policies as similar to those of President Bush, saying: "You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."The lipstick maxim is hardly new to either Obama or McCain. The Democrat has used it in the past, and McCain repeated the folksy metaphor when he criticized Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on health care. McCain was never accused of being sexist when he uttered those words.So for the sake of the country be an informed voter.

I think indy is right. I don't think Obama was referring to Palin. I think he used the word "pig" because all kuffar, Jews, & Infidels are apes & pigs.

Indy.... talk about naieve. if at any other time his comment would have not received an iota of notice. Even from the audience. The phrase is old and tired. However, he used it RIGHT after Gov Palin used it to attack Obama. And, shortly after she used it, he turns around and uses it with reference to a pig.
He MAY not have been using it against her.. .but it sure does represent distaste, classlessness, and utter bad judgment on his part. He got the response he wanted. Is this the kind of judgment, or lack of, we want in a president when it comes to opposing dictators?
