So, you have struggled long and hard. You may even have slept with the boss. A time or two. But you have been able to keep your job. Throughout this tough economic time you, my friend, are one of the lucky ones.
You have a job and are able to make some good money.
But now comes along a man. One man. On a mission. And he won't take the Constitution for an answer.
What does this man want?
He wants your money. How else is he going to pay for his plans? He has already promised to not raise taxes on the poor and middle-class. Thus, he comes after you. You are the ones with all the unnecessary money. You who have stolen and coerced your livelihood away from others.
It wasn't good enough that you will be facing another 5% in federal taxes to fund the health care of illegals. Now, he wants MORE. He wants more from you in the form of payroll taxes.
Heaven forbid if you operate a business or anything. Oh you are so screwed!
Majority Leader Harry Reid is considering a plan for higher payroll taxes on the upper-income earners to help finance health care legislation he intends to introduce in the Senate in the next several days, numerous Democratic officials said Wednesday.
These officials said one of the options Reid has had under review would raise the payroll tax that goes to Medicare, ...
Welcome to the CHANGE. You voted for it. Now you got it.
It was not known how large an increase Reid, D-Nev., was considering, or whether it would also apply to a company's portion of the tax. President Barack Obama has said he will not raise taxes on wage earners making less than $250,000. (ED: Meaning the rest of the people who make over that, who pay over 80% of all taxes already, WILL get their taxes raised!)
On one contentious issue, he has already said his measure will include an option for consumers to purchase health care from the government as a way to create competition with private companies. States could drop out of the system.
The House bill is significantly more generous in providing subsidies to help lower-income individuals and families afford coverage, and Reid is under pressure to find additional financing. Additionally, a Senate Finance Committee-approved proposal to tax very high-cost insurance policies has drawn criticism from organized labor, which wants it either modified or dropped altogether.
Taxes. Taxes. Taxes. They love them some taxes. While another 500,000 people joined the unemployment rolls this month, unemployment nearing 22%, jobs actually disappearing left and right, this administration sees as the only way out of this misery is to .... RAISE TAXES out the wazoo.
So, while you are being thankful for your job, cutting back expenses, car-pooling, eliminating extraneous expenses, the government wants to raise your taxes through the roof.
You think that your boss will be able to hire people back once the economy turns around? Not if their taxes and penalties are going to go up as well.
How's that for compassion?
Stone: Do you think it’s fair to send people to jail who don’t buy health insurance?
Pelosi: … The legislation is very fair in this respect.
Socialism never attends a party without an escort of coercive state behavior. It is a historic fact -- indeed, an economic fact -- that as the state seeks to regulate and control more and more economic activity, they must, of course, control more and more human activity.
Furthermore, apart from the basic definitional aspect of socialism that requires a loss of freedom in exchange, supposedly, for economic security: Socialism has almost never worked as intended, but rather creates new problems and new poverties and new ways to exploit the system (black markets, for one); socialism therefore always requires even additional laws against once-unobjectionable and perfectly-legal behavior. In other words, not only does socialism require a small buy-in, in the form of loss of freedom, but it is always accompanied by unplanned-for (?) additional losses of freedom to "correct" for all the systematic irrationalities and distortions it creates.
HERE HERE!! Well said.
Just to refresh your memory on what we are talking about here.....
They intend to make legal the jailing of people for doing things that is considered a basic right of choice. Choosing to not buy health insurance for yourself will now be a crime, yeah even a FELONY crime, punishable by up to 5 years on prison.
