Playing to the Cameras, Trois

Mohammed Ballas, staff coward for the Associated Press, has managed to capture an astounding picture.

The scene is a funeral, the composition is serene, the grieved is a terrorist who is admittedly a member of a group that is known for launching rockets at Israeli civilians.

And Ballas still manages to frame the picture sympathetically?

I'd say it's unbelievable, but I'd be lying.

Palestinians carry the body of the Islamic Jihad militant Ala a-din Abu Rop, during his funeral in the northern West Bank village of Qabatiya, Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009. Israeli troops on a West Bank arrest raid have killed Abu Rop, the 21-year-old militant commander in northern West Bank village of Qabatiya. Abu Rop's brother said troops barged into their home and shot his brother while he was sitting at a computer. The Israeli military says it arrived in the home early Thursday to find Abu Rop fully armed. (AP Photo/Mohammed Ballas)

Incidentally, take a look at this guy's shirt, from the same funeral. Real peaceful bunch of monsters they are there, huh Mohammed?

One would hope that the AP editorial desk would rein in these independent stringers once in a while.

Note the "militant's" name: Abu R-o-P.
How ironic.

So, is this like a game? Kind of like musical chairs? See who can be the guy in front to carry the dead guy in front of the cameras?

"No, its my turn!!!"

Do they put the guy down, walk around, and then when the shooting stops, all jumps in and see who can be the front bearer?

Blogs to read while watching the crocodiles eat.* 1) If I were to write a mission statement (and had the skill) I'd have written this. 2) Get your score cards. 3) UNRWA workers - on strike. At least they have their moonlighting to fall back on. The lords of misery. 4) Peace, love and understanding - on the Left. More insanity from the world of entertainment. 5) When you decide that you must find something, you will. But then you have to be willfully blind to what really happened. (Stopped clocks, I suppose.) 6) Two (three, actually) of my favorite...
