George W. Bush's $600 rebate checks?

Bad.

Obama's $676 rebate checks?

Good!

If I may quote the First Lady We All Wanted To See On The Cover Of Vogue Magazine, from a statement she made back when the previous summer's stimulus bill was under consideration:

“You’re getting $600. What can you do with that? Not to be ungrateful or anything. But maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn’t pay down every bill every month..

Barack’s approach is that the short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good. And it may even feel good that first month when you get that check. And then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings.”

In the 1,434 page stimulus bill, which Barack Obama insists that we must pass or face dire consequences, we taxpayers, the serfs of the government that we continue to be, will get a whopping $676 stimulus check.

Will the wonders never cease?

Update: Welcome, Gateway, Anchoress, and Yahoo! News readers! I trust you are as incensed at this travesty as I am? Because, as far as I can see, under the bill as it exists today, we will bankrupt our nation, for no reason other than to transfer billions of dollars into liberal causes.

Is this what we fought our Revolution for? And will this be how we allow our nation to die?

Call your congress critters tomorrow. Put the fear of God in them. A "no" vote tomorrow would be our very last chance to stop this atrocity.

Unless, of course, you enjoy sticking a finger in George Washington's eye.

I just read that is am getting an extra $13 dollars a week in my check from Obama's tax cut. "$13 dollars" you gotta be kidding me. What will I do with all this money. Someone please come help me spend this.

Why is it that the "productive" citizens are always left to their own.
Middle class Amercia is drowning and is not even acknowledged. Small business owners are the backbone of this country, yet the only break given is a "refund" if they spend money. Where is the money going to come from to spend if there isn't any work....

This is great the last purchase I made was for a new pair of work boots. The tax on the boots was 18.60 The real gift from the government. I may never wear out my new Red Wing boots being unemployed. Now my young son can use them to pay off the new dept when he comes of age. "Full Circle" I pray for us all!
