The 200 ~ Or: Welcome, Fellow Newcomers!

Whoa. Just whoa.

I was perusing the site stats this morning, and noticed that our subscribed reader base has nearly doubled overnight, jumping from 282 respected readers to 456 of you scoundrels!

My deepest and utmost thanks go out to DMartyr and Avid Editor for bringing the big Newsweek story to our attention—and I've got a big and hearty thanks to all of you who have subscribed to our feed, as well!

If you're new to Snapped Shot, let me be the first to say that while we try to offer serious reporting around here, we can't help but engage in tomfoolery and fun most of the time. Speaking especially for myself, I find it far more pleasant to approach today's news and events with massive doses of sarcasm than is probably required. I hope this doesn't bug you, but if something seems a little bit "off," hopefully this will help explain it.

While this site is technically dedicated to the observation of photojournalism (and I do personally spend quite a bit of my time watching and reviewing the daily photo feeds from around the world), we frequently dwell into other topics to fill the empty space when there's nothing major going on. If you have seen any photos that you think are worthy of examination, or know of anything else that you think we'll enjoy discussing around here, please don't hesitate to send them along.

Otherwise, I strongly encourage you to participate in the comments threads. Even if you disagree wholeheartedly with our perspective around here, the dialogue provided by disagreements can provide educational insights that we all might've missed the first time around. Snapped Shot prides itself on not censoring reader-submitted commentary, so even if we disagree with you, I can promise that your opinion will be heard (a detailed explanation of this policy can be found here).

Anyway, we'll have more to come, I'm sure. In the meantime, if you're looking for some cheap entertainment, I highly recommend perusing our archive of Friday delights. Or, if you're Photoshop-inclined, I recommend you check out Snapped Shot turbo, our playground for ye Photoshopping Fun. And please do feel free to suggest Photoshop contests, if you want to challenge us to a draw.

Pun intended.

Because that's how we roll 'round here.
