The Ghost of Snapped Shot

Or, welcome to my low-maintenance heck.

This is what it looks like.

Remember way back in 2004, when gas prices were spiking? And remember how the press complained wildly that President Bush didn't caaaare about the American people because he wouldn't release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve?

Yeah, about that.

President Barack "Mensa" Obama did exactly what the Democrats and the media (I'm being redundant) called for, releasing about a day's worth of oil to the glowing praise -- "OIL PRICES PLUNGE!!!11!1!1!!!!1!" -- of our muttonheaded would-be elites. And the chart above, which shows a complete and total retracement of the price of oil IN A MATTER OF WEEKS, is the ultimate result.

Which, ironically, is exactly what the Bush Administration said would happen back in 2004.

So why am I not hearing any weeping and gnashing of teeth by the short-attention-span hairsprayed idiots on the boob toob about this setback? Shouldn't the lede to this amazing story be "PRESIDENT FAILS TO CONTROL OIL PRICES, MEDIA EXPERTS HIT HARDEST?"

No, I don't think the press will tell that story. Apparently, introspection and analyzing one's own mistakes are courses that aren't offered anywhere at Columbia.

Let this be a lesson to anyone that thinks that the news media should be providing any input to our national policy.

You'll get exactly what you deserve.
