The Ghost of Snapped Shot

Or, welcome to my low-maintenance heck.

Idiots On Parade

Here they come.  The IDIOTS on parade.  Watch them.  Laugh at them.  They are the IDIOTS on parade.

You know, I am not a law student.  I am not an elected representative. I hold no elected office nor do I make any judicial rulings.  But, dear lord, I do know how to think.  How hard is it to do that?  How come it is the IDIOTS that fill these offices while it is the thinking people that get squashed and spit upon?

Case in point.    You may recall that in 2008, the US Supreme Court threw out the District's gun ban against LEGAL gun owndership.  Some peoplegroups filed suit against the D.C. council after the Council
inacted legislation
to "restrict" how people attain certain firearms.

A federal judge on Friday upheld the gun laws that the District of Columbia passed to comply with the landmark 2008 Supreme Court ruling that struck down the city's decades-old ban on [ED: LEGAL] handgun possession.

U.S. District Judge Ricardo M. Urbina found that the new regulations were crafted to make the streets safer and aren't so restrictive that they violate the Second Amendment guarantee of a person's right to own a gun for self-defense.

"It is beyond dispute that public safety is an important -- indeed, a compelling -- governmental interest," Urbina wrote.

The judge ruled that the District's handgun registration process, which requires owners to submit fingerprints and allow police to perform ballistics tests, is constitutional. He also upheld a city ban on most semiautomatic pistols.

Beyond dispute?  The pubic safety is a compelling governmental interest is something that is beyond dispute?  For me, that was the whole point of the 2nd amendment.  The government CAN'T be trusted with your safety or security.  This judge is obviously an IDIOT.  Must be one of those Socialist judges that refuses to believe in the constitution.

Please tell me how requiring legal purchasers of guns to submit to fingerprints and ballistic tests on NEWLY purchased weapons will fend off or even place a bandage on the illegal trade and use of unlicensed firearms in the hands of the bad guys?!!?

When will these IDIOTS realize this fact?  When a gun is stolen or lost from a legal purchaser, what good then does the fingerprint and ballistic records do?  How much money then has been wasted on the monitoring, collection, retention and analysis of all those records taken from LEGAL citizens?

Here, let's hear from an elected IDIOT.

D.C. Council member Phil Mendelson (D-At Large), chairman of the Committee on Public Safety and the Judiciary, said the ruling shows the District reached the correct balance between the rights of residents and the need to promote public safety.

"The police remove an awful lot of firearms from the streets every year that are unregistered and owned by criminals, members of gangs and people who rob other folks or shoot other folks," Mendelson said. "Because law-abiding citizens register their guns, it makes it easier for the police to identify and arrest the criminals."

Yep.  You read that right.  By forcing legal citizens register their guns and submit their fingerprints BEFORE being accused of a crime, that fact allows the police to more easily arrest criminals.

Soak that in for a moment.

Say it with me.......  WHAT AN IDIOT!!

How will knowing who was he original legal purchaser of a gun help police catch the guy who stole it, sold it to his bookie, who traded it for dope to his dealer, who then traded it for sex to his prostitute, who then gave it to her pimp as partial payment, who then shot his uncle some 5 months after the initial theft?

This is nothing more than greater Socialist government control over your personal rights and your rights as delinieated in the Bill of Rights.

The city requires that legally registered revolvers be kept unloaded and either disassembled or secured with trigger locks, unless the owner reasonably fears immediate harm by an intruder in the home. Each resident can register one pistol a month, and registrations expire after three years.

Ok.  So people are to know exactly when and from where intruders are going to attack their homes and theirselves?  How will keeping your gun DISASSEMBLED in your home protect you from an intruder who bursts through your door at night?

You think the intruder will give you time to figure out how to reassemble your gun, find your bullets and then try and load it?

And what is immediate harm?  Are you in immediate harm if the intruder breaks in to your garage while you are in the back bedroom?  What if you see an intruder with a weapon coming up your back yard?  Are you in immediate danger then or when the person is inside your house?

And, would the legal purchaser become a criminal and lose their right to own that firearm if they let their legal registration lapse?  Why should they continue to prove and submit to the government that they own what they legally purchased years ago?  Would the government come in and forcibly take the fiream from the legal purchaser should they forget to re-register with the authorities?

And, I think I can recall that limitations on the number of gun purchases has been overturned in the past.

But, once again, we see IDIOTS on parade.  Yet, these IDIOTS hold your rights in their hands.

It is time to stand up and take your rights back.  Just stop voting like an IDIOT.

I agree, idiots all.  What I don't get is why you are surprised by the fact that idiots put in places of authority do or say idiotic things.  Don't get me wrong, I agree with everything you said, I just don't know why you are surprised.
