The Ghost of Snapped Shot

Or, welcome to my low-maintenance heck.

Blackberry Lifts from Interfacelift

When I saw the walkthrough of Blackberry 6 linked over at CrackBerry earlier today, I thought it looked pretty neat—Like Research In Motion was finally starting to get their act together when it comes to building a consumer-grade operating system for their phones.

But it looked... familiar. And I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

That is, until the next time my desktop wallpaper rotated out. And who would've guessed it—their fancy new camera app is so powerful, it lifts photos straight off of, the Internet's #1 source for beautiful desktop backgrounds.

Behold, the photo your BlackBerry will never take (aside from the fact that it can't run OS 6). Taken more than a year ago by Bulgarian photographer Alexander Kirichev, I can see why RIM liked it so much.

It's a bit of a stretch to think that your phone will ever take anything like it, though.

PS: Yeah, I'm still ticked off at how rotten my Blackberry Storm was. Who could've ever guessed that building a phone that crashes in the first five minutes out of the box would be bad publicity?

I'm happy with my rotary phone.
