New Yorkers. I laugh at you!
Everyone seems to be talking about the mosque that some outsiders want to build within the destroyed zone of Ground Zero. Some are for its construction. Some are against it. I wanted to put down my point of view.
I don't really care.
Here's why...First let me say that at first I really did care and I was really pissed off about it. Many people have tried to create a parallel example to describe why this is a horrible idea. Some have alluded to Hitler putting up a Nazi museum near the Holocaust Memorial. To me, I don't think is quite apt.
For me, a good example would be had the Japanese created a pro-WW2, pro-japanese culture museum and youth center on Phillipines. In particular, maybe around the corner from the Nanking Massacre memorial? And announce it within the first 10 years and propose its openeing on the 10 year memorial.
Huh? Does that sound like something that must be tolerated in a tolerant society?
No? I didn't think so.
Again, this is a mosque of a religion of those that attacked us on September 11, 2001 and killed nearly 3,000 people, butchered their prisoners, attacks without uniform or code of conduct, uses terroristic attacks on the battlefield and promises to wipe out our friends and allies. Some in that religion even call us "The Great Satan". We are fighting two local wars and a global war on their terror. There are many nations that are suffering under their own infliction of that relgiion upon their societies.
But, then I took some time to think on it (like the proposed builders of this mosque should have done on American's possible reaction to this mosque at that location by these people). Heck, there are some muslims who don't think this is a great idea. Some are even upset that they were not asked if this was a good idea from a 9/11 perspective.
I as an American Christian and a budding Conservative thought of my own belief system. I believe the government should be hands off of people's religious choices. And, unfortunately, I agree with Obama and Harry Reid that this is a local issue and should be left up to those local city officials. That is where the buck stops. That is the extent of the decision making process (sans lawsuits).
But, thinking of all these things, and that this would be built in New York City, I came to the conclusion that I don't care if it is built. Especially since it was New York City.
First, IF, and I say IF, this is going to be a mosque, then this is a religious freedom issue and more freedom of choice should be given to where it can be built. Where any church would be built.
Yet, this is not a church. This is a museum, youth center, fitness center AND mosque. It's almost like the muslim version of Camp Gitmo on Cuba but in America.
Second, this is a local city issue. NEW YORK CITY! Those people voted for those city officials that approved of that mosque. Despite the fact that around 70% of New Yorkers don't want the mosque built, YOU VOTED FOR THAT TYPE OF GOVERNMENT!!
Now live with it.
Obama, Pelosi, Reid and, even, Rush, Hannity, Savage and little old me have no say in the matter. What they and I say says alot about our internal belief system. We can see that Obama's views on this mosque only continues to confirm that he holds a stronger tie with muslims than he does with America and our ideals. Pelosi has shown that she is against anything Christian. And Harry Reid is just out to save his hide during this tight election.
And yet, you people who voted for these New York City officials, Obama, Pelosi and Reid, you should be jumping for joy that this terrorist training camp will be built in your downtown. At the heart of our largest attack site. You voted for these people to make these decisions for you. You wanted the change. You wanted to get rid of Christianity and Capitalism. Welcome to the world of your making.
It's all downhill from here.
Fortunately for me, as a strong devout Christian who believes in the book of Revelation, I won't have to be here when all of your decisions destroy this world.
You keep doing what your doing, keep electing socialists and athiests and anti-capitalists, and your grave will keep getting deeper and deeper. You'll be at the bottom and wonder how you got there. You'll look up and see a red crescent moon alongside a red star flying high above. Then you'll look down and see nothing but bones, death and misery lining your grave.
As an aside, I think all Conservatives and Republicans should cut their incomes to be less than $100,000 a year. Heck, drop your incomes down to $50K if you can.
Why? That way only the rich democrats and socialists will be held responsible for all the taxes taken in by this massive expansive racist bigoted socialist government that the socialists, democrats, and communits elected in to office over these last few years.
[UPDATE] Well, well, well. It seems that the lone muslim in congress has come out to speak on the GZM issue. In short.... Those who oppose its placement are just "Religious BIGOTS".
