The U.K. has warned Libya that celebrating the anniversary of the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset Al-Megrahi would be "tasteless."

Is it as tasteless as building a mosque at Ground Zero? If it is then the NYT and WaPo should inform the U.K. that it is up to the Libyans to celebrate in the manner that is consistent with their religious traditions. You know, like the hero's welcome al-Megrahi received when he returned to Libya last year.
