Senate Democrats Reject IRS Requirements From ObamaCare

Allowing Democrats to drive the ship. Always a good decision.

Democrats in the Senate refused to take back that IRS regulation that would have required any business to notify the IRS of any, ANY, transaction that was $600 or over.

The sole purpose of this requirement was to increase taxes in to the coffers to help pay for that deficit-neutral ObamaCare fiasco.  Republicans, moving with the tide of resentment that this provision has created, put up their bill to revoke the provision.  It was killed.  A democrat hoping to keep his seat this November, put up a semi-compromise bill to raise the reporting requirement to $5000, while also raising taxes on oil companies.  That one too died.

Senators just voted 46-52 against an amendment by Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb. that would have stripped out the provision, which requires businesses to report to the IRS transactions to anyone or any company that cost more than $600.

The Senate then defeated a similar amendment by Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. Nelson’s measure, which went down in a 61-37 vote, would have raised the reporting requirement to $5,000 and excluded businesses with fewer than 25 employees.

Seven Democrats voted for the Johanns proposal, which most Democrats and the Obama administration said went too far in rolling back a health care provision that was expected to raise about $17 billion to help pay for an expansion in health care coverage. Republicans for the most part refused to back the Democratic bill because they didn’t think it went far enough and did not like that it would be paid for with a $15 billion tax on oil companies.

In other words people, they hate you.  They want their money back.  You don't deserve to have their money, thus they want it back.  You should feel utterly grateful and humble that you are allowed to keep even a small pittance of that loaned money.

Now you see what the fight will be like for the Republicans next year when they try and repeal ObamaCare and all of the other Socialist programs enacted by this rogue Congress.

Expect to be slimed over the next few years about how the Republicans want to kill your grandparents and disabled children because they want to remove government-owned health care.

(psst... guess what... states already have their own high-risk insurance pools!)

[UPDATE 1]  Democrats knowing how much you really loved ObamaCare, loved the IRS provisions, illegal immigration and gay issues in the military have placed immigration and gay-ness in to the Defense Spending bill.

Because Defense Spending has everything to do with granting amnesty to illegals.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he will add the DREAM Act, a controversial immigration measure, to a defense policy bill the Senate will take up next week.

The decision means the defense bill, which often passes with bipartisan support, will be home to two major, thorny political issues – the other being the repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Reid called the DREAM Act "really important" and said it should be passed because it provides a path to citizenship for young illegal immigrants who go to college or serve in the military. DREAM is an acronym for Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act.

"I know we can't do comprehensive immigration reform," Reid said at a news conference. "But those Republicans we had in the last Congress have left us."

..."But those Republicans we had in the last Congress have left us."....

WHAT ... IN... THE... HECK?!!?!??!  Did he lose them?  Can he not find them?  Did he kill them?  Might I remind him that he IS NOT a Republican.  He is a DemocratSocialist.  His party is in the vast majority and thus did not need a single R vote to pass his unconstitutional socialist America-killing bills.

I think it is time to put this guy out to pasture because he seriously is not all there.

So, are you happy that immigration amnesty and anti-military rules will be placed in the Defense Spending bill?

I don't care what these illegals do.  They should not be here.  We should not be giving them amnesty!!!

However, I am willing to compromise.  If an non-American wants to come to America, have them first sign up for the military.  The military will then contact them.  Run a background check.  Meet them at the border if they accept the applicant.  Then immediately take them to their base.  Then after serving for 5 years and taking classes on America and English, they can file for citizenship.  It will not, can not, be given to them by default!!!
