The Ghost of Snapped Shot

Or, welcome to my low-maintenance heck.

The Media on Human Rights

The photo above, taken by Reuters stringer Mohammed Salem, tells me all I need to know about the media's commitment to human rights. Here we have a terrorist group that's openly committed to the destruction of the Jewish race—which is the definition of "genocide" last I checked—and the press blithely and obediently shows up every single time they're asked, ready to take one glamorous photo after another.

And it's not like the other wire services are blameless in this, either. The Associated Press and Agence France-Presse are as eager to please their Hamas overlords as Reuters is.

Three major wire service agencies shriek at the mere thought of some kinds of repression. And yet, all three hesitate not one second before agreeing to flagrantly promote a group that defines it.

Imagine how different the coverage of World War II would have been if it were covered by the "professional" journalists of today.

Members of Palestinian armed factions, including members of Hamas, take part in a news conference to demonstrate their opposition to Israeli-Palestinian negotiations in Washington, in Gaza City September 2, 2010. Hamas said on Thursday its militants would keep on attacking Israelis and denounced peace talks between Israel and the West Bank-based Palestinian government which have taken place in Washington. "Is it true Admiral Yamamoto, that the Imperialist United States invited you to practice your bombing runs on a little used island they have named Hawaii?

And, as a follow up, isn't it also true sir, that America started this war by denying you your basic human right to have iron?"

"Adm Yamamoto, sir, sir, sir!!   Can you please tell me how your soldiers felt when they learned that they were betrayed by the Americans and shot out of the sky over the former foreign military base?"
