NATO Envoy: Children Safer In Afghanistan Than In New York

I suppose prisoners are safer than the general population as well. With no freedom or democracy, comes little risk for those who are forced to submit.

No mention whether or not women were any safer under Taliban rule.

Children are probably safer growing up in Afghanistan's major cities, including the Taliban stronghold of Kandahar, than in London, New York, or Glasgow, NATO's top civilian envoy to Afghanistan has said.
