CSI: Pentagon

Because lawyers are exactly like generals.

The Associated Press brings us a report that Leon Panetta, current DCI at CIA, will be named as Secretary of Defense after Robert Gates leaves later on in the year.

Who could have guessed that an Administration that's absolutely packed full of lawyers would think that a lawyer is qualified to run the War Department.

After all, who needs military service to understand the standard operating procedures of the military in a time of war? It's not like we have any of those going on right now or anything.

EVERY single US Senator thinks Panetta is qualified to run the "WAR Department"  So I guess the elected officials in the US Senate did.

"Leon Panetta, the incoming defense secretary, visited the Pentagon Wednesday, a day after the Senate confirmed him by a rare 100-0 vote to replace Robert Gates"

Heh, you'll probably be surprised to know that the military doesn't exactly hold Congress in high regard, either. Funny, that...

But hey, we all know liberals could care less what members of the military think, so it's not like it really matters in the long run. And I will give credit to Panetta for not being the worst DCI in history, which is saying quite a lot, considering the source! ;)
